YDS is open 24/7!
YDS accepts youth who are:
  • Non-violent and demonstrate a need for a structured, supportive therapeutic environment. This may include youth who are victims of emotional, sexual and physical abuse, emotional adjustment difficulties, or an inability to distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate behaviors.  
  • Delinquents

YDS does not accept youth who are:
  • Sex offenders
  • Fire setters
  • Violent 
  • Actively suicidal youth
  • Youth who's medical needs cannot be safely provided for in a group home setting

​We accept referrals from:
  • Parents
  • Department of Family Services social workers and probation officers
  • Law enforcement
  • Therapists
  • Clergy
  • School officials 
  • Attorneys
  • Youth can also refer themselves to the Crisis Shelter Program 
Male and female youth are served without regard to race, color, national origin, sexual orientation, religious creed or disability.
